I can’t think of anything more exciting than celebrating the holidays with your new baby in tow. Well, except maybe being able to toss your maternity clothes off to the side and slip back into your “regular” clothes just in time for these festivities. This holiday season, treat yourself to something fabulous and fashionable (just don’t forget to get something that leaves you a little wiggle room for all that turkey and stuffing you’ll be consuming). Read on to learn all about some must have items just in time for Turkey Day.
Fall Colored Pants
Slim fit pants are all the rage right now, mainly because their tapered leg allows you to wear them tucked into boots, with flats, or with a great pair of ankle booties. Jump on this pants trend by showcasing a pair in a fun, fall color. Pick up a pair colored in mustard, tomato red, burnt orange, or bark brown.
Graphic Print Leggings
Another popular pant option; graphic print leggings are being spotted everywhere, on everyone! From pretty patterns to loud, seasonal images; leggings are ideal to wear to holiday family festivities because they allow you a lot of wiggle room and lots of comfort. Consider slipping on a long tunic overtop to ensure a flattering fit.
Try a Maxi Skirt
Maxi dresses have been the go-to, all occasion item for years. But, this season, the maxi “skirt” is gaining headway. It’s absolutely still as flattering and appropriate for more formal festivities, but it is also helpful if you are nursing because it is worn as a separate piece and promotes easy, convenient access. Maxi skirts look gorgeous when worn with a silky, button down blouse tucked in and secured with a glitzy belt; or playful and casual when paired with a chunky cable knit sweater.
Leather and Lace
Again, if you have more formal dinner plans for the upcoming holiday, you may want to consider pairing together lace and leather. Very chic, very flattering, and very elegant; the two textures complement one another. You can wear a lace knit top with a fitter leather jacket and a pair of black trousers; or jeans to slightly dress the duo down. Regardless, you’re sure to turn heads but remain actually in comfort at the same time.
With so many fun and chic choices to get dressed for the holiday, it may be hard to choose just one look. Dress according to your plans, your venue, and for your baby’s nursing needs; and be sure to allow yourself an extra helping of turkey-after all, you have a lot to be thankful for!
