Fashion Friday: 3 Ways to Wear a Tunic

Fashion Friday: 3 Ways to Wear a Tunic

by Heather Aulisio

There is nothing more I love than fall except for maybe an amazing tunic! I can’t stress enough how figure flattering tunics are, especially on a post baby body (and especially for fall weather). They are super versatile and you can wear them in a number of ways. Here are a few of my favorite outfit combos that are great for running errands, a girl’s night, or even a date night out with your partner!

Totally Low Key

To create a totally low key look with a tunic, select one that is composed of a stretchy (but not form fitting) cotton blend. You want something that just skims the body and hits a little above your knees. Add a comfortable pair of black leggings and ballet flats. Embellish with a cool headband, infinity (nursing) scarf, and a wrist full of shiny bangles. Voila! You’re totally ready to run errands or hang around the house (but will still look totally fab!).

Girl’s Night Out

For a girl’s night out, I love a silky tunic. Look for something in a bright color to give your outfit a pop of interest. Wear a pair of skinny fit or tapered jeans at the ankle and slip on a fun, peep toe bootie. Add layers of long, golden necklaces and have a cute clutch in hand for a night filled with kid-free fun!

Date Night

Bring the drama and glamour with a super long tunic! These are called super tunics and they hit right at the knee and usually have some kind of dramatic, decorative design elements to them; like break away back pleats, shoulder cut outs, or a heavily jeweled neckline. I’m also a sucker for leather pants, but have always felt self-conscious wearing them. A tunic provides you with more than adequate coverage so you’re only really exposing your calves. Add a pair of wedge booties or riding boots to complete your look!

Start stocking up on tunics for a fabulously fashionable fall!
