Fashion Friday: 5 Spring and Summer Color Trends (And How to Wear Them)

Posted by Heather Aulisio on

Nothing says spring and summer like certain colors. And, according to Pantone; the world renowned experts in fashion and color; there are certain tones that need to find their way into your closet. Read on to learn about five hot hues and how you can wear them for the upcoming seasons.

  1. Rose Quartz

This pretty, soft pink tone is right on cue with spring. It resembles a pastel but has a little more vibrancy to it. Consider wearing it with white, navy, or even a gorgeous Kelly green for some contrast that complements.

  1. Buttercup

Reminiscent of the tulips that you’ll see sprouting up soon, buttercup is crisp and cheerful. It works wonders when worn on all types of skin tones and can stand up against other hearty colors like navy, peach, and chocolate brown. Try to avoid pairing it with black, to avoid a bumble bee effect.

  1. Lilac Gray

This shade of gray has a touch of purple in it, making it much more interesting than shades like slate and charcoal. It’s light and bright, but also serves as a go-to neutral tone that can be worn with virtually any color. Try pairing it with cherry red, classic white, or even a soft yellow tone.

  1. Limpet Shell

Blue is always a popular color for spring and summer months. But, Limpet Shell is perfect to be worn when you are channeling your inner peace and tranquility. It is soft, clean, but defined. It will look lovely when worn with cream colored accents, shades of grey, and even black and white.

  1. Iced Coffee

Wearing bright colors are fun, but wearing neutral tones are important too. They serve as the base color for the rest of your outfit. Ditch those dark browns for a lighter, brighter brown; like Iced Coffee. It pairs well with pretty much all colors of the rainbow and has a softer more contemporary feel.

So, the next time you are out on a shopping excursion or browsing your favorite stores online; keep these colors in mind to ensure you are dressed in the trendiest tones for the upcoming seasons.
